The ATCP provides the Sonelastic solutions for nondestructive characterization of elastic moduli and damping of materials. The elastic moduli comprises the Young’s modulus (E), shear modulus (G) and Poisson’s ratio (ν). The damping corresponds to the internal friction of the material (ξ, η, Q and Q-1). The Sonelastic® Solutions operate according to impulse excitation technique based on natural frequencies of vibration (ASTM-1876 and correlated). It is able to characterize both the elastic moduli and damping and has great versatility with respect to the aceptable geometry and dimensions of the specimen. Our solutions are suitable for any rigid material, including polymers, composites, brittle and wilh coarse microstructure, such as refractories, abrasives, concrete and rocks. The geometry can be bar, cylinder, plate, disk or ring. |
