FAQ: If we got a piezoelectric ring with known charge constant (d33), surface area and the recommended bolt tightening torque provided by the manufacturer, is it possible to calculate the recommended prestress level for satisfying the need of "PiezoClamping®"?

Yes, it is. In order to do that, perform the reverse process by applying the parameters suggested by the manufacturer and measuring the resulting average prestress with PiezoClamping®. However, make sure the results are consistent. For power transducers we do not recommend exceeding 60 MPa or staying below 25 MPa for PZT-8.
